An exclusive, adjacent hotel will be financed by a separate entity, although details of its cost are yet to be revealed.
The planned $75 million investment will comprise a permanent Harrah’s casino, situated at the former Wishbones events site center northwest of downtown and demolished in 2021, featuring slots, table games, and sports betting. This will allow Caesars Entertainment to build a temporary casino at the Platte County Agricultural Park, on the east side of Columbus. On Wednesday, the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission (NRGC) voted in favor of granting Harrah’s Nebraska a provisional gaming license. Developer Caesars Entertainment wants to have the gaming spots ready to go by March of 20 respectively.
This week, Nebraska gave Harrah’s the go-ahead to start constructing both temporary and permanent casinos.
